Italians in Sport
September is traditionally an important month in the Australian sporting calendar. Fittingly, on Wednesday 2nd September 2015, ALTO hosted its annual Italians in Sport Dinner. The special sit-down dinner was held for the second consecutive year at Caterina’s Cucina e Bar (221 Queen St, Melbourne) and heralded another successful event for ALTO with the room brimming with 100 guests. The success of the event can be largely attributed to the support and patronage of the following special guests, who helped fill the venue and regaled guests with stories from their respective lives in sport:
- AFL Legend Ron Barassi;
- Matildas Co-Captain and Melbourne City W-League star Lisa De Vanna;
- Luca Scribani Rossi (1982 Italian Bronze Medal winner and 2000 Australian Shooting Coach);
- Essendon FC Premiership Player Steve Alessio
- Melbourne Victory Captain Carl Valeri
- Melbourne City FC Assistant Coach Luciano Trani
- Broadcaster and host Tony Schibeci
