Property & Construction

Italians are well-known for their fascination with food, fashion and fast cars. Yet there’s always been another great obsession for many Italians – property. Indeed, so extensive has the influence of Italian-Australians in the property market, particularly over the last 60 years, that they have essentially helped shape the landscape of Melbourne. Companies like Grocon, Schiavello and Salta Properties were profiled at our 2014 event, and so successful that was, that we were overwhelmed with demand from the ALTO Community to hold a follow-up evening in 2015.

BMW Melbourne (118 City Road, Southbank) again played fabulous host to the ALTO Property and Construction event, which saw 230+ Italian-Australians come together to hear from leading industry figures. Our special thanks to our panel of speakers, who together, collectively share more than 80 years of experience:

The panel, led by ICCI President Tony De Domenico, explored many of the hot-button issues facing younger Australians seeking to enter the property market, as well as regulatory challenges for local and state governments.

Thank you to Vino Bambino team for their provision of delicious Italian wines for the event. We also note that this occasion marked the commencement of a formal Memorandum of Understanding signed between ALTO and the Italian Chamber of Commerce, a relationship thriving off shared community and business-minded values and objectives.
